With more than 20 years in public practice and a background in audit, accounting, tax and financial planning, Helen can provide the holistic advice that many of our clients seek.

Those who have worked with Helen say she has a “sixth sense” in identifying issues and finding solutions.  She approaches her work with a positive, ‘can do’ attitude and loves to see our clients succeed in life.  Her open, honest and friendly demeanour puts our clients at ease.  This may be due to her ability to communicate and explain financial terms and strategies in a way that people understand.  Our clients have often commented that they have absolute trust and confidence that Helen will always endeavour to act in their best interests.

Helen feels the best way to help our clients is by getting to know them personally.  She admits one of her favourite parts of her job, is to meet people from all walks of life, understanding their background, culture and what makes them tick.  Helen believes that there is no such thing as ‘one size fits all’ for our clients so she will always put in the time and effort to understand their needs and goals so that clients get the tailored advice they deserve.

There is no doubt that Helen loves a challenge and therefore will look for ways to be fresh and current in her advice.  She feels it is important in her line of work to continually grow by learning.

During her working years, her love for everything superannuation, especially self-managed superannuation funds (SMSF) moved her to become an SMSF Specialist and a member of the SMSF Association.  Driven to always do better and become the adviser of choice, she felt our clients would greatly benefit if they could get advice from someone who is qualified to wear two hats.  After many years helping our clients with accounting and tax as a Chartered Accountant, Helen was motivated to become a qualified Financial Adviser.  Wearing two hats as an Accountant and Financial Adviser has its challenges!  However, Helen admits she loves to be a forward thinker by focusing on the client’s goals and creating a plan for their future.  She finds making a difference in people’s lives rewarding.

Family is one of the most important things in Helen’s life.  She loves spending time with her husband and two beautiful girls.  She admits that her family loves bonding over cooking and eating gourmet food.  They call themselves the ‘foodie family’ where thoroughly researching the must-eat places when on travels is a given.  Being a self-confessed foodie does not mean no limits.  Helen loves learning about nutrition and how diet can impact our general wellbeing and health and it is one of her favourite topics to discuss.

Creating new experiences and memories is why travelling is always on the agenda for Helen and her family.  Spending time in nature, in the forests, rivers and oceans is Helen’s way of recharging and feeling appreciative of life’s blessings.  So, it is no surprise to find her camping with friends and family but never without a hot shower and toilet nearby.

Get in touch below to find out why Helen is trusted when it comes to Financial Advisory Services.

IT WAS LIKE RECEIVING ADVICE FROM YOUR MUM – BUT YOU ACTUALLY LISTEN TO IT!

We have been with Canny Group for seven years now.  After deciding at the start of 2020 we wanted to start a new business, we took the idea straight to Amanda who offered us second to none advice.  It was like receiving advice from you mum, but you actually listen to it.

Amanda was kind, compassionate but incredibly real – her open and honest communication meant we were going into our venture with our eyes wide open to some of the hard facts of business but felt we had the tools for success.  After months of feedback and tweaking to our business plan – we have confidently been able to take the next steps into bring our venture to life.

Without Amanda, her great advice, time and mentoring, we would not be seeing the success we are today!
